Lacey Frustrations

So I'm all ready to settle down and drive myself crazy knitting the lace for my garter. I went to Hobby Lobby (FAR from where I live, we don't have any craft stores where I live) and buy the tiny size 2 needles in a pretty shade of pink, come home, pull out the silk, and get to work. It's like knitting dental floss with tooth picks.

So I get big yarn and needles (ahhh...size 8) and decide to practice the pattern. 2 rows in it makes no sense.

or maybe I'm crazy, but here it is:
Cast on 13 stitches (ok, I can handle that)
R1: k2, yo, k2tog, p to end (this too, is with in my skill range)
r2: sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl1, psso, yo, k2tog, k1
The psso's are a little tricky, but I managed. I get close to the end of the row and I CANNOT KNIT STITCHES THAT AREN"T THERE!
I re-counted a bunch, and have officially decided this makes no sense and I quit.

I have been productive though, check out our save the dates:

And the bridesmaid's dresses:

They will be "grape" a slightly iridescent reddish toned purple. My maids like them, my mom hates them. "I hope you're going to have light pink flowers so there will be something spring about this wedding.

Only 9 more months! The wedding is officially my baby, and I can't wait for it to be birthed.

Ahhh....

It's 3:12pm and I've just finished a Shiner. I knit sooo much today. I had to sub for 10th grade English and all I had to do was hand out packets of short stories and multiple choice questions, which left me with hours of free time to purl Pink and Olive to my heart's content. Did I say purl? Oh yes. I'm purling the whole damn thing because after a few short rounds, I picked up my knitting again and the only way it would continue on in the appropriate stockinette was to purl. I was going to indulge my one beer induced laziness and not post a progress pic, but alas. You need to see how enormous the neck is.
