Nickelback + Soul Coughing = weird

Nickelback Covers Super Bon Bom

Thank you, You Tube. I am a huge fan of Mike Doughty and I had the pleasure of seeing him live on his Haughty Melodic tour last year. I am not a huge fan of Nickelback. Quite the opposite. Hearing them cover Super Bon Bon is like something saying, "I love Wolfgang Puck's tiramisu. I am going to devote my life to making twinkies, and one day I will recreate his tiramisu using twinkie ingredients." Blah.

5 rows away from splitting off the sleeves, neat!

in the darkness

ooo, most emo title ever. But I can't lie, I'm depressed. I went to a job open house thing for citigroup. If I pay 200 dollars and get licensed, I can create financial plans for people to get out of debt. Pretty cool, but you have to find all of the debt ridden people yourself and possibly visit them in their homes.

The people doing the presentation quoted Jesus a couple of times...how sad is it that when people quote the Bible I am automatically suspicious? Must come from growing up in a Bible Belt High school where girls would come up to me in the hall and tell me they were praying for me to join Young Life, the same organization that I overheard the same girls whispering about how they got drunk or laid at those events.

Anyway, here is a picture of my dog. She makes me happy. Her name is Izzi and she always knows when I feel bad and comes and sits beside me.

Texas, our Texas

I'm back in the state that spawned George Bush, safe and sound, despite the efforts of Gatorade terroists. It is hot here. The kind of hot that is cause for insanity. The kind of hot that makes it impossible to wear shorts and sit on leather seats.

I'm blaming the heat on my lack of desire to find a job. I worked hard this summer, I'm taking a break. I've been working on pink and olive like a fiend, a mere 12 rows away from splitting off the sleeves. Will post pics once I get there.

Also, I'm using this time to continue to freak out about the wedding. We booked our reception spot yesterday, a fancy place with a view of both the Dallas and Ft. Worth skylines. Since the view is so neat, we don't have to do much decorating, which pleases and saddens me at the same time. While I was gone my mom bought a stack of bridal magazines and when I freaked out about the millions of options of colors and styles, etc, so I just picked something I really liked and everything will revolve around it.

I need to learn calligraphy for the invites...I think I'm going to pull colors from the above bouquet, buy neat rubber stamps, and go to town, with the art of Nick Bantock as inspiration.

Randomly, a fun tattoo idea I drew on my leg with eyeliner:
