I Blame the Weather

In addition to the lovely Secret Pal Gifts, I had a little S-E-X this weekend at the Hancock's by my parent's house.

Sadly, it's going out of business, leaving zero craft or hobby stores in a 20 mile radius. Happily, their yarn was 40% off. I got more Landscapes, which I'm currently making a shrug out of. (It may end up in the "You knit what?" category, but I do enjoy this yarn)

And I also got......

Cashmere! Delicious, delicious cashmere.

Well, ok, yes it is a blend. But still. I feel kinda like I felt when I got my first diamonds (props to S for those!) I never thought I'd get to work with such luxury. I'm pretty sure it's going to one day become a Tubey, with the shrug part in gray and the body in blue.

Stash, consider yourself enhanced.

The Goods, For Real

First off, some beautiful handmade needles with swirly metallic teal ends. Click on the picture to to experience the full glory of the swirly-ness. They are awesome!

This Classic Elite mercanized cotton makes the stuff I'm knitting Lelah out of feel like old shoelaces. I definitely see making more lacy tanks in the near future! Perhaps one of the ones from the Spring Interweave.

And, Boomerang in "Caribbean". Boomerang is the best name for this stuff. I've heard other knitters use the term "sproingy" before, but never truly understood the term until this came along. It's the trampoline of yarn. And the colors! Blue and green! Always winners in my book. :)

And as I mentioned before, there was delicious chocolate (which was, um, unavailable for the photoshoot) and a cute card and pattern

Thank you!

Thank you, Secret Pal!

I got the first installment of goodies from my SP on Saturday. It was awesome! There was candy, a cute card, neat handmade knitting needles, this pattern, and of course, some glorious yarn.

But know what there isn't? Pictures.

I went to upload them tonight, and every last one of them was blurry. Really blurry. So unfortunately those will have to wait until later this week when I have a moment with natural light to re-shoot them. But when I do, you'll understand why I feel spoiled already!

And so this isn't a totally picture-less post...
*yellow rose, yellow house*

The rose bush that came with our house is in full, crazy bloom, despite the snow (?!?) we had over this weekend. It's had buds on it for weeks, and I was dying to know what color the flowers were. Surprise! They match the house.
