Whatever Gets You Through the Day...
Guess what?!? I'm half an inch from finishing the lace section of Lelah. After that it's the home stretch - about five inches of stockinette in the round, woot!
But I don't have any pics, so to distract everyone, here's a list of my favorite distractions at work:
Pandora Radio Free, online radio...you tell it a band you like and it creates a whole radio station around it for you. It's a great way to discover new music and drown your co-workers' discussion of the minuate of the previous night's "American Idol".
Online Books Free, online books. It's kind of hard to browse, and seems to have mostly older fiction, reference books, and things you've never heard of. I just finished reading the "Scarlet Pimpernel". It's just pages and pages of plain text, so it really looks like something important and work-like.
Tea - Sweet, sweet tea. I couldn't start my day without Stash organic green tea or Republic of Tea Matte Latte. I gave up coffee for Lent and transferred my addiction. But it doesn't hurt my stomach like coffee, so it's all good.
Knitting blogs - Of course. I'm a huge lurker. I love seeing everyone's awesome projects and rampant creativity. The downside of it is that I get all kinds of ideas that I want to make, and it seems like everyone is just churning out beautiful awesome knits and quilts and breads with one hand while raising babies/ running companies/ otherwise saving the world with the other. I get a little overwhelmed by it, honestly. But I love it.
I also make lists on yellow post its and stick them in my purse, making myself look truly crazy. They are pretty obscure. I actually made a list for this post - "pandora, online books, tea, lists, xanax" (a shopping list for Satan's mom?) and the ones currently surrounding me say "Barcelona", " Je suis belle et ca ne demande acun effort" (BTW, I don't speak French), and one that says "Spa Atelier, Jonas, Massage Envy". Yes, there is a little crazy on my face.
Anything I'm missing? Any other suggestions?
