Everone loves a log (cabin)

There has been a lot more sewing than knitting going on in my craft corner these days. The above is my first not-from-a pattern log cabin block. I think the fabrics and colors work well for the stripes in my quilt (ooo, yeah, I'm one more rainy weekend away from having a quilt!) but in the log cabin, they look mushy.
Maybe it would have looked better if I had paid attention to the fabric more when I was making it, but I was having too much fun being free form.

I'm so excited to finish this project but at the same time, I'm really enjoying it and don't want it to end. As soon as there is something coherent to show for the quilt top, I'll post it. Bring on the rainy weekend!

Lelah!

*Not really done*

Here she is, in all of her glory. This pattern is really cute and makes a flattering garment. I haven't seen anyone look bad in it yet. So, because of the cuteness, I'm going to re-knit the straps. Again. You can't really see in the picture, but blocking didn't fix the curling and actually stretched one out to the point where that side of the top sags and shows my bra. Not hot.

Lelah. Our love-hate relationship continues.
